Greater Saqr DBOOM Project

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), currently is developing small/medium fields at a fast pace. One such field is Greater Saqr and the strategy of PDO for development of the Early Development of this field is as follows:

  1. The Off-plot scope consisting of the oil well hook up and flow lines up to MSVs and water injection well hook ups and flowlines up to Water Injection manifold shall be designed, constructed and owned by Company (PDO).
  2. The on-plot facility to process the gross fluids from the wells shall be executed on a “DBOOM” basis.

The DBOOM contract for the On -plot facility has been awarded by PDO to  Exterran Middle East LLC. Exterran has appointed TRE as the Engineering Consultant for this DBOOM project.

The objective of Greater Saqr DBOOM project is to process the gross fluids produced from small/medium fields such as Misbah, Saqr, Saqr N, Saqr NE, Rakid and Rakid South in a new on-plot facility consisting of desanders, Enhanced Gas Flotation Tank (EGFT) and associated facilities, coalescer, produced oil export facility, water treatment and water injection facilities, flare gas recovery to generate power, all other utilities and off-sites.

TRE has provided the best-in-class design engineering for the on-plot facility on time which is a key to the customer satisfaction as well as meeting the project objectives.

TRE’s huge experience in the design engineering field has been instrumental in completing of many such projects to multiple prestigious Clients in Oman. In this specific project, TRE has designed a system to recover flare gases in order to generate electric power, achieving significant reduction in operating costs as well as CO2 emission, in line with its mandate to help its clients to implement an effective and efficient Net Zero Transition strategy.
