Purpose of the Job:
To carry out Concept, front-end design and detailed engineering process/technical safety input to engineering projects in support of the development of new and existing oil and gas and water handling facilities and refineries.
Qualification & Expeirence:
- University Graduate in relevant Engineering (B.Sc. /M.Sc. /B.Eng.) and/or membership of internationally accepted applicable professional Institute
- For an Senior Engineer, a minimum 12+ years in design, and specification of oil & gas, refinery and petrochemical facilities. Field experience in construction, commissioning, or maintenance will be an added advantage
- Good spoken/written English PC literate
- Conversant with engineering softwares, relevant International codes & standards including NFPA’s, Shell (DEP’s) and PDO (SP’s) design and construction standards
- Experience in various stages of Process/Technical Safety Engineering work in Concept, FEED and Detailed Engineering stages.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Provide guidance on the appropriate risk mitigation measures required for Process Safety issues
- Responsible for safety engineering systems including fire / explosion protection systems, emergency facilities, and life saving equipment
- Disseminate knowledge and/or participation of industry/group led research or developments in the management of Process Safety hazards
- Participate in Reviews and Audits in order to facilitate lateral learning and ensure gaps in the systems are addressed
- Approve Process Safety Reports. Drawings & layouts as Lead where necessary
- Guide and mentor Junior Engineers on Process Safety.
